Take a Step in 2012

Take a Step!

Taking a step for Fair Trade is all about the power you have to make the world a better place.

You may not know it, but even simple shopping decisions can make a big impact on the world. Fair Trade is all about making sure the people who grow and make the things we buy get a fair deal, so they can invest in making their families, communities, and environments thrive.

Choosing to buy Fair Trade products is a really simple step you can take to make this happen. Once you do, you’ll have already taken your first step

Recognizing Fair Trade products or knowing if they’re the real deal can sometimes be tricky though, which is why Fairtrade certification was invented. Certified products have been independently verified to have met rigorous standards, and are easily recognizable by the iconic mark on the package.

You’d be surprised at just how easy it is to find Fair Trade products once you start looking for them. In fact, you can find Fairtrade certified coffee and chocolate in just about any shop across the country.

If we all take steps to add more Fair Trade to our lives, and we tell our friends, family, and local shops about it too, then all of our small steps together will go a long way to make the world a better place.

In fact, why not take a step right now? After all, every step counts!

WANT TO TAKE SOME BIGGER STEPS?

But don’t let us hold you back. You could take hundreds of steps for Fair Trade this year; all you need to do is apply your creativity and drive to make the world a better place.

PRIZES AND SURPRISES

Did we forget to mention prizes? Oh yes, registering steps on the right day (like every day during Fair Trade Fortnight (May 1-15), among others) could land you some fantastic Fair Trade prizes. Just keep an eye on the little black box on the front page, or follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep on top of things.

Fairtrade Canada will be running fun contests [link to Contest page] throughout the year that might just have some great prizes too….
