Rouyn-Noranda Named Canada’s 24th Fair Trade Town!
May 31st, 2017 | Rouyn-Noranda, Qc. The town of Rouyn-Noranda has been officially recognized as a Fair Trade Town!
By resolution, the town invites its community to subscribe to the objectives of fair trade and the municipality is committed to contribute to the promotion of fair trade at the local level by encouraging the purchase of fair trade products. The city is accompanied in this designation by the Corcovado International Solidarity Center, which also promotes fair trade and international solidarity.

By becoming the 24th Fair Trade Town in Canada, and the 9th in Quebec, Rouyn-Noranda gets a recognition for its long-standing commitment to more responsible and environmentally friendly consumption practices. Being a Fair Trade Town means supporting and encouraging producers and workers in the South, who benefit from better working conditions and protect their environment through sustainable agricultural practices.
