St Paul’s University College Named Canada’s 26th Fair Trade Campus!

Waterloo, ON | May 29th, 2017. St. Paul’s University College, in partnership with Watson’s Eatery, is proud to announce that they are officially a Fair Trade Campus!

St. Paul’s has been serving Fairtrade coffee and other Fairtrade products for years. They have also implemented other sustainable and eco-friendly initiatives. “Because we feel a strong connection with the core values of the fair trade mandate, we are continuously looking for ways to advance this ethic” Gita Bose, Food Services Unit Manager. She continues to mention that applying for the official fair trade designation just made sense.

We are proud that the tea, coffee, cocoa, and chocolate croissants at Watson’s are produced in safe, secure working conditions that offer fair wages and opportunities for workers. St. Paul’s will continue to work to diversify and educate their staff and students on sustainable practices and encourage others to address complex local and global development issues.
