Fair Trade Quinoa, Communities and Markets: The View from Bolivia

May 12 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CST

Join Dr. Tamara Stenn, Fair Trade Saskatoon and SCIC to share in tales of fantasy and woe as we explore the reverse Robin Hood story of Bolivia’s Royal Quinoa growers. From rags to riches and back again, explore the bitter-sweet triumphs that Fair Trade and global markets brought to Bolivia’s indigenous producers and a most sacred, ancient seed.

Wednesday, May 12th at 12-1pm (Central Standard Time), via Zoom

About the speaker:

Dr. Tamara Stenn is an economist, enterprise developer, and professor of Sustainable Development at Landmark College in Vermont, USA.  The creator of the Sustainability the Lens Game, she is forever exploring the intersectionalities of trade, culture, well-being, and sustainability.  Join us to share in her three years of US Fulbright research amongst Bolivia’s most ancient farmers, the Quechua and Aymara of the Uyuni Salt Flats in the heart of the magical Royal Quinoa zone.
